I found this free encyclopedia very helpful and full with useful information. It can give you (as far as I can say) unbiased and truthful information in many fields and in this case about Bulgaria. There is a section about Bulgarian Folk Music and others about history and famous Bulgarians.
Check the links about John Atanasoff and Valya Balkanska. You might be surprised :- )
